My Night Time Skincare Routine

So first of all, sorry it's been a while since my last post, I've had a little bit of writer's block! But I'm back with plenty of ideas now so yay!

If you follow me on Twitter and/or Instagram (@justlucyslife) then you'll know that I recently changed my night time skincare routine.

I was running out of make up wipes but when I got to my local Boots I realised they'd ran out of the Simple make up wipes I usually use. It was then that I spotted some Soap & Glory items on sale and if you read my blog then you'll know that I love a good S & G product so I decided to pick up the Peaches and Clean Deep Cleansing Milk along with some large cotton pads.

Before purchasing I quickly read some reviews and somebody had described the scent of the product like 'minty peaches' and that is exactly the smell! I thought it might be too overpowering at first but I've found to love the smell and the minty essence seems to give a fresher feel.

I was also a little worried about breaking out as it's so perfumed but so far so good, no break outs and it leaves my skin feeling fresh and smooth just like it claims to.

To go along with my make up removing lotion I decided to pick up this Garnier 'Express 2 in 1 Eye Make-up Remover' for my eye make up. I've been using it for about a week now and I'm not disappointed or amazed by it, it's just ok. This product claims to remove all eye make-up with one swipe so you don't have to go back and rub over your eyes which could ruin your eyelashes. However, while one swipe does remove quite a bit of my mascara, it doesn't get all of it meaning I do have to go back over and rub my eyes which is what this product is trying to prevent. Then again, it was under £3 if I remember rightly so I guess I can't complain too much!

After I've removed my make up I go ahead and apply some of my favourite moisturiser - the Replenishing Rich Moisturiser by Simple. I've been using this moisturiser for quite a while now and I love it as it does exactly what it says on the bottle. It's also reasonably priced and one bottle lasts for quite a long time!

What about you? What do you use in your skincare routine? I'm always looking for new things to try so I'd love for you to tell me in the comments!

Summer Essentials '15

Some of you may already have seen this post as I wrote it to feature as a guest post on the lovely Bethany Dean's blog, but I also wanted to post it here on my blog.

Although Summer isn't over yet, as I work in a boutique, I've noticed that people are already starting to think about their autumn wardrobe now, so I decided to share some of the products I've found to be essentials (so far) this Summer.

First of all there's this little gem. Last month I got this lovely smelling perfume in the Selfridges sale for just £20! And I've decided that it was £20 well spent. I don't normally like floral scents in my perfumes but I think this limited edition Marc Jacobs perfume has a slightly sweeter smell which I love.

Next up, this is something that I've been using for a while but it's the 'Replenishing' moisturiser from Simple. I've found this helpful for those no make up days out in the sun to prevent my face getting too dry or peeling when I've caught the sun a little too much.

I got this Hollister spray on the same day as the Marc Jacobs perfume (I was shopping in Manchester). For one, I absolutely love Hollister sprays as it is as they're pretty cheap considering how long they last (£12). I fell in love with 'Lunada Bay' for it's fresh and fruity scent and I've used it pretty much every day since I got it!

I got this nail varnish as a birthday present in May and I already loved the colour but I also found that it was great for it's matte effect, and for how fast it dries as I always end up getting impatient and smudging my nail varnish before it's dried, oops!

Benefit' 'Lolli Balm' is another thing that I've been using for quite a while but I think it's the perfect summer product. It keeps my lips nice and soft and I love the soft pink colour.

If you have fair skin and find it hard to get a tan, like me, then this is perfect for you! This is a smaller version of St.Tropez's gradual tan body lotion and is made specifically for your face which means it's designed to give you a more natural look, yay!

And last but not least, my lifesavers! I'm still baffled at how good quality these sunglasses are seen as I got them for free in a Cosmo mag! I love aviator style sunglasses as I think they suit my face shape the best and I wear them pretty much everyday on my walk to and from work. It also doesn't have to be that sunny for me to wear them, they're great for first thing on a morning when you're still half asleep and the clouds are just too bright for your liking.

So those are my ultimate summer essentials, what about you? What have been some essentials for you this Summer?

Crazy Haute | First Collaboration

I'm so excited to be posting my first collaboration post on this blog!

I first found Crazy Haute on Instagram. Their Instagram looks really clean and polished which automatically drew me in but what caught my attention the most was their slogans!

Crazy Haute make bags (big and small) and they have stand-out statements printed on their products. Their slogans are quirky and funny which I love.

When ordering my bag, I noticed that they do custom designs. I decided to ask if I could have the quote "I Left My Heart In New York" printed on my bag as I've been reminiscing about my time in New York quite a lot recently as it was around this time last year I went. I also asked if I could have baby blue or baby pink with silver chrome for the writing.

Once I'd made my order, I got updated through instagram messages throughout the process which I found to be a very helpful touch. I was impressed with how quick the process was as within two working days the bag was on my doorstep!

I love the size of this bag as I think it's going to be perfect to pop in my handbag everyday to keep essentials like grips, bobbles, lip balm etc together. That means that I'll be able to switch my essentials from bag to bag easily when I change over, bonus!

I'd highly recommend Crazy Haute for their fast and friendly service, their funny slogans and their cool designs, I can't wait to order from them again!

If you want to check them out for yourself then search them on Instagram @crazyhaute or head over to soooperfect.com

The 'Me-Time' Tag!

I saw this 'Me-Time' Tag on http://www.lucestephenson.com/ and thought it looked like a fun and cute tag to do so I decided to give it a go.

1. What do you like to watch/read during me-time?

I normally turn to Friends or Two and Half Men, the current series I'm working my way through on Netflix (at the moment it's Orange is the New Black) or I'll stick on a movie (usually a rom com or Disney movie). As you can probably tell watching TV is one of my favourite 'me-time' things to do. I also like to sit down and catch up on the blogs I follow or read a book (at the moment I'm reading The Fault in our Stars)

2. What do you wear during me-time?

Normally a pair of joggers and a baggy t-shirt.

3. What are your favourite me-time beauty products?

Either one of those sheet face mask things (technical term) which make you look pretty scary but do wonders for your skin or my Vaseline Moisturiser spray in the scent cocoa to get me all smooth and ready for fake tan!

4. Current favourite nail polish?

I've been getting Gelish nails done recently (which are absolute life savers as I always smudge nail varnish while waiting for it to dry!!) But I love the Models Own scented nail varnishes in the summer, the pastel colours are so pretty and they smell yum too!

5. What do you eat or drink during me-time?

A cup of tea and some biscuits or a chocolate bar for dunking.

6. Current favourite candle?

My newest Yankee Candle in the scent 'A Child's Wish'.

7. Do you ever have outdoor me-time?

Sometimes if I really need to get out of the house I'll go for a walk or sometimes just if the weather's nice.

8. Would you ever go and watch a film alone?

I want to say yes because the amount of films I've missed because nobody would come with me is annoying (I still haven't seen the third Hunger Games movie!) but I would never have the guts.

9. Favourite online shop

Probably Boohoo! It's so good for quick little fixes for a weekend outfit.

10. Anything to add? What else do you do during me-time?

My favourite thing to do as me-time is honestly just curling up on the sofa with a blanket and a cup of tea but I also count running this blog as me-time, I love spending time on it and putting effort into my content.

Now, I tag YOU to do this 'Me-Time' tag, and when you do it then please link it in the comments so I can check it out!

Why Taylor Swift is my Role Model... And Why She Should Be Yours

So if you read last week's post then you'll know that I recently went to see Taylor Swift on her 1989 tour in Manchester and had the time of my life. I've always loved Taylor's music but since seeing her live I've quickly grown to admire her as a person and role model. I think it's fair to say that, after listening to her album everyday since the tour, I've officially converted into a swiftie! And as promised, here's my post on why I think she's an amazing role model to me and many others.

1. She's a Feminist!! She encourages women to be strong, to speak their mind and to love themselves as they are.

2. She knows she has a big voice and she uses it (and I'm not just talking about her singing). In interviews, talk shows, tours, on social media etc. she is always sending out positive messages which is admirable considering her demographic is mainly teenage girls and teenage girls are very impressionable.

3. She is constantly trying to make a change - just last week she wrote a letter to Apple via her Tumblr page telling them that they shouldn't expect artists to hand them their music without getting paid and guess what? Artists will now get paid to have their music streamed on Apple Music.

4. Her 1989 show is full of positive, empowering and comforting messages. Manchester Arena holds 15,000 people so that night she told everyone at her sold out show that they should love themselves, be who they are, not let guys mistreat them and that it's better to have fun than to look cool, and that's just a few. You never know, to some people that may of been just what they needed to hear.

5. She has recently been named being in the 'richest couple' with her current boyfriend Calvin Harris, but she's not keeping all of that money to herself. She donates to charity a lot and doesn't make a huge deal out of it, showing how modest she is. Last month she donated $15,000 to a firefighter who saved his own family's life to cover their medical bills.

I could go on but those are the main reasons why I admire Taylor Swift and now see her as one of my main role models.
