The Beauty Confessions Tag

3 April 2016

Happy Sunday! Today I'm going to be doing the 'Beauty Confessions' tag which my friend Grace over on That Northern Lass tagged me in, be sure to check out her blog! I love doing tags, I think it's a great chance for readers to get to know the blogger. So, get to know a bit more about me and see my answers:

1. What is your biggest beauty product addiction (lippies, blushes, highlighter, bronzer, mascara etc.)?

It's definitely got to be anything that goes on my lips! From lipsticks to glosses to balms, I physically can't leave the house without some kind of lip product with me. I feel like it really completes my make up and I just don't feel right with bare lips.

2. How many products from your addiction do you have?

If I were to count them it'd take me forever! I'd definitely say more than 40.

3.What is one type of beauty product that you hate (highlighters, hairspray etc.)?

One thing I never use is hairspray. I normally leave my hair quite natural, but even if I curl my hair it tends to take to curls quite well and even without hairspray they'll still be loosely there the next day. I also don't like the sticky feel it can give, I like my hair to be nice and smooth.

4.What has been your biggest challenge in beauty (e.g. a technique you learned or leaving a beauty comfort zone)?

I'm going to go with eyeshadow! I used to be terrible at applying it, blending it, and even using more than one colour at a time, but with my trusty first eyeshadow palette Naked by Urban Decay to start me off and quite a bit of time spent watching Youtube tutorials by beauty guru's, I'm now blending like a pro.

5. What is one beauty comfort zone you don’t ever think you’ll leave?

Fake tanning. I was blessed (cursed) with classic British skin, white as a sheet! So if you're pale like me then you'll understand that fake tan is a god sent. Even though it can be a lengthy process to build a nice colour, I actually feel healthier with it on and I just can't go on a night out without any on! Plus, having a tan always makes me feel a bit skinnier which is a huge bonus.

6. What is one beauty thing you suck at (e.g. eyeliner like cat eye or taking your makeup off at the end of the day etc.)?

I'm really bad at highlighting. If I try to highlight certain parts of my face when contouring it just ends up looking the same colour as my normal foundation, and I just never caught on to the whole strobing craze. Beauty experts, teach me your ways.

7. What is one thing in beauty that you don’t understand the hype (technique, trend etc.)?

I'll admit it, I don't really understand the hype about this whole colour correcting technique that's recently come about. Applying 5 different colours to your face before even applying foundation seems like a lot of effort to me and I feel like foundation and concealer can pretty much cover up any blemishes or unwanted colour anyway? Maybe it's just me.

There are my answers for the 'Beauty Confessions' tag, I hope you enjoyed finding out a little bit more about me! I'm now going to tag my lovely friend Beth over on Polished Couture and anyone else who wants to do it.

  4. I never use hairsprays too! I mean I hate the dirty feeling at the end of the day and I don't wash my hair everyday. Eyeshadows are difficult for sure, I do spend a lot of time in blending.
