Revolution Blush Palette | Review

13 May 2016

Being a typical student, I'm always on the look out for budget make up that won't break the bank but still does the job I want, which is why when I saw this blush palette from Revolution which includes 8 blushes for just £6, I just had to have it.

I am a fan of Revolution. I think it's a great drugstore brand with very reasonably priced products and I have quite a few products from them.

I chose to go for the 'Sugar and Spice' palette as the colours appealed to me more than the rest. I think there's a good range from pink-tones to brown-tones, this is great for changing up your look especially if you're on the go. I think this would be the perfect blush palette to take away on holiday as there is so much choice.

Now, I have to admit it, this was one of those products that I bought, used once, then didn't pick up again for a few months. I'm not sure why, I think I was just so stuck on using my Benefit blush boxes that I didn't give anything else a chance, but I'm learning to experiment more with my make up now.

When using this product the quality is actually pretty decent, especially considering each blush is worth under £1. A word of warning though, some blushes are more pigmented than others so be careful on application, we don't want any Bridget Jones moments! However, from a small amount of product I find that I get a nice colour for my cheeks, and they are reasonably easy to build up, still being careful not to apply too much product though. You'll see what I mean about the pigmentation in these swatches.

As you can see, the pinks are more vibrant, so those are the ones I'd suggest not to use too much product with. Having said that, I think that all the colours are lovely, especially the coral one in the bottom row. I've used the coral shade a lot recently and I find that it helps to define my cheekbones, which I love!

The two shades on the end are baked blushes, but I think that the top right shade would make a great highlighter.

Overall, if you're looking for a budget blush palette then this one is for you! Revolution also have a wider range of colours through various blush palettes so you can go down to your local drugstore shop who sells them and see which one suits you.

Have you tried this palette? Have you tried anything else from Revolution? If so, what did you think? Let me know in the comments!
