A New Venture

For the past couple of weeks some of you may have noticed that I've gone a little quiet over here on Just Lucy's Life, and even though it only has been a couple of days, I almost feel homesick about my blog.. 'blogsick'? Nah, that sounds gross. However, my point is that I do have a good reason for not blogging, and that is...

I'VE BEEN MAKING YOUTUBE VIDEOS! Crazy, I know. YouTube is something that I've always wanted to venture into but I've never had the guts/time/inspiration until now. I think that videos are a great way to talk about things that wouldn't quite work the same with a blog. For example, my first video was an unboxing/first impressions of Kylie Jenner's lip kit. I found this was a great way to show my reaction, how the product actually works and what it looks like, as sometimes it's hard to show through swatches.

I've had nothing but nice comments about my videos so far, which I wasn't expecting! But it really does make me smile. Knowing that somebody likes and enjoys the content you create is such a lovely feeling, as it shows that the effort you put in is worth it.

So, the plan is that instead of just 1 blog post a week, I'll now be uploading 1 blog post and 1 Youtube video a week, yay! I may actually post 2 blog posts, with one being a separate subject and one being a little intro to my video that week, so we'll see how this goes!

Honestly, I'm actually really enjoying making videos to put up on Youtube and share with you all at the moment. Kind words have really made me feel better about it, and even if it doesn't work out, at least I can say I gave it a go!

Here's the links to my first 2 videos, I'd absolutely love for you to check them out and if you do then I hope you enjoy them! If you want to follow my journey on Youtube then make sure you subscribe so you don't miss out!

Zoella Beauty | Sweet Inspirations

Ever since I got my new new camera I've been dying to take some snaps for my blog with it, and what better post to start off with than Zoella's latest beauty range 'Sweet Inspirations'.

First of all, this has got to be one of the most prettily packaged collections I've ever seen! The colour scheme's, the pastels, the subtle hints of gold, the designs... everything is just so gorgeous!

Secondly, it also happens to smell incredible! I'm not normally a fan of sweet scents, I find that if they're too strong or too sweet they can become a bit sickening. However, when I popped into Superdrug to have a sniff of the Sweet Inspirations collection, I fell in love. It's exactly how so many people, including Zoe, have been describing it, not too sweet and you can definitely smell that the range has been inspired by macarons and sweet almond. It's a really unique scent which is lovely and sweet but not too overpowering, and is also quite sophisticated and musky at the same time.

I feel like this is a step up for Zoella as it's a much more sophisticated range. I mean, don't get me wrong, I've loved her previous ranges! But in my opinion they were all quite girly and young, whereas I can see women of all ages liking this scent and these products.

I picked up 4 things from the collection. I got the 'Le Fizz' bath fizzer, the 'Double Creme' body cream, the body mist and, of course, the 'Bath Latte' shower milk.

The Bath Latte has got to be my favourite out of the collection. I love the concept of the bottle design, it's so different, quirky and just adorable! I can't wait to make some bubbles with this lovely smelling beauty.

I love the fragranced body mist and think it's going to be great for summer. I don't like to wear perfume as much in the summer as I feel like they're too heavy, and I prefer a lighter scent like a mist. I've already tried this out and throughout the day I kept getting whiffs of loveliness every now and then, so it lasts quite a while!

The body cream was something that I was 'uhm-ing' and 'ah-ing' about as I don't normally use body lotions. Bad, I know! But I can't stand the sticky feeling of a thick moisturiser. However, this body cream sinks in quickly so there is no sticky feeling, yay! I've been using this quite a bit which is great as it's encouraging my to look after my skin more and, again, it smells so good!

As I said on my snapchat (justlucyslife), when it comes to bath products I usually stick to LUSH products, but this bar was so nicely packaged and looked and smelled so good, I just couldn't leave it. I'm not surprised there's a 'Do Not Eat' label on the back as it really does look good enough to eat! I can't wait to use this Bath Fizzer bar.

Another thing I love about this range is that it is so reasonably priced. The Bath Latte was £6, the mist was £8, the body cream was £5 and the Bath Fizzer was £5. It's definitely value for money!

Have you tried anything from Zoe's Sweet Inspirations range yet? What did you think? If not, is there anything you'd like to try? Let me know in the comments, I'd love to hear your thoughts!

The Liebster Award Tag

Last week my friend over on That Northern Lass nominated me for The Liebster Award tag, so today that's exactly what I'm going to do, enjoy!

The rules of the Liebster award are:
1. Mention the blogger who tagged you and thank them - thank you, Grace!
2. Answer the 11 questions the blogger has asked you:
1. If you were an animal, what kind of animal would you be?
This is quite a typical answer, but probably a cat. You'd get to sleep practically all day, you get fed and you get unlimited affection from your owners, a cat's life sounds like a happy one

2. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose to live?

This is tough, because I really am a 'home bird'. I've considered living away for University, but it's just not in me. Having said that, 2 years ago (exactly!) I went on holiday to New York and while I was there I fell in love with the city. So if I could choose to live anywhere, as long as I wasn't leaving everyone behind, it would be New York.

3. If you could travel back in time, is there a moment in history that you would like to visit?

Definitely Christmas at my Grandad's house. Christmas hasn't been the same since we lost my Grandad and Grandma and they are some of the happiest memories I have.

4. Beach or pool?

Probably beach, because then you can get chips and ice cream. Food is always on the mind.

5. What is your favourite make-up product?

Ahh this is so hard!! I'm going to have to say my Revlon ColourStay foundation, because I've been using that baby for a good 5 years at least and I still love it!

6. Favourite social media platform?

I love Instagram for the visual and artistic side of it, but I love the interaction you can have on Twitter, so probably Twitter.

7. What is the best advice that you ever received?

I can't think of a specific piece of advice, but any advice my Dad gives me is normally worth listening to!

8. What is your favourite brand of clothing?

I love different brands for different things, but overall I'd have to say Hollister. Some of my favourite pieces of clothing are from there, and they're normally super comfy!

9. What is your favourite flower?

Peonies! I didn't have a favourite flower until I watched Gossip Girl, and Blair Waldorf's love for peonies reflected on to me.

10. What is your favourite drink?

Alcoholic or non-alcoholic? Alcoholic would be Vodka and Coke, and non-alcoholic would be a good ol' cuppa tea!

11. What beauty brand would you most like to try out next?

This is easy, Anastasia Beverly Hills! I need to try their contour kit, pomade brow gel, liquid lipsticks and highlighters ASAP!

3. Nominate 11 bloggers who have 500 followers or less.

I'm not sure on the amount of followers these people have, but I'm going to tag them anyway!
I tag Jade, Gemma, Alex, BethEmily, Laura, Kirsty, Caroline, Sami, Tor and Sally.

4. Give them 11 questions to answer.

1. Lipstick or lipgloss?
2. Cats or Dogs?
3. What is one thing you can't leave the house without?
4. Why did you start blogging?
5. What is your favourite foundation?
6. Tea or Coffee?
7. Where would you next like to go on holiday?
8. Who is your favourite Youtuber?
9. What is a beauty product that disappointed you?
10. What is your favourite high-end product?
11. What is your favourite way to pamper yourself?

5. Notify your nominees on Twitter.

I hope you enjoyed this tag post, I definitely enjoyed writing it! Thanks again Grace for nominating me!
