Easy DIY Sugar Lip Scrub

13 September 2016

Lip scrubs are one of those products that you didn't know you needed until you get one, and then you get one and you're like... ok, maybe my lips do need a lil' pampering!

Another fab thing about lip scrubs is that instead of going out and splashing the cash on them every now and then, they're actually super easy to make! Today I'm going to tell you how you can make your very own personalised sugar lip scrub in a matter of minutes.

What you will need:

  • 1 cup/small dish
  • 1 teaspoon
  • Sugar
  • Olive oil
  • Flavouring of your choice
  • Food colouring of your choice (optional)
  • 1 small container

How:

1. Pour out the amount of sugar you'd like to use (depending on how much scrub you want) into your cup/dish.

2. Add a dash of olive oil and mix. The oil should help the sugar to stick together, so if it's still a little dry then add another dash.

3. Pour in a few drops of your food flavouring and mix. (I chose peppermint to keep it lovely and fresh!)

4. Pour in a few drops of food colouring and mix. (I opted for pink as it looks super cute)

5. Transfer finished lip scrub to storage container and decorate with ribbon, stickers etc... or just leave pretty and plain!

And here's the finished product!

I decided to keep my sugar scrub in a small jar that I found in my local craft shop for just £1! I had so much fun creating my first DIY post and (if you want to see them) I'll definitely be planning more for the future! I also loved personalising my sugar lip scrub to the flavour and colour I prefer and I'm really pleased with the finished product!

What about you? Will you be making this easy DIY lip scrub? Let me know in the comments, as always I'd love to here from you!
