Paul Mitchell Ultimate Color Repair Triple Rescue | Review

A few weeks ago I was kindly sent a bottle of Paul Mitchell's Ultimate Color Repair Triple Rescue to try out. After giving my hair a good chop getting rid of long, thin and dry ends, I was determined to take better care of my hair so I decided this would be a good place to start.

The thing that really drew me in was the words 'Triple Rescue' as this little beauty promises to bring your hair protection against heat and condition your lovely locks whilst giving them a glowing shine. What doesn't sound good about that?

After giving this product a proper trial for a few weeks everytime I washed my hair, I can definitely tell that this product has worked for me. After a good shake and a few spritz each time I'm now weeks after getting my hair cut and there's not a split end in sight. I'm not sure how but it's scent just reminds me of the hairdressers, I can't think of any other way to describe it! However, that's not a bad thing as it makes me feel like it's more professional. I also feel like my hair is in better condition and has a little shine to it, result!

This product has a main ingredient of Quinoa which I love as it's natural. Priced at around £18 I think this bottle is totally worth it as a little goes a long way and I've seen fab results so will be carrying on to use it in my hair care regime.

Thank you to Paul Mitchell for letting me try this product, it's definitely helped my hair and I'm now on the hunt for more of your products to try!

What do you think? Have you tried anything from Paul Mitchell before? If so, what did you think? Let me know in the comments below, I'd love to have a chat!

Also make sure you're following me on Bloglovin' as tomorrow is the start of Blogmas, I'm super excited!

Mac's Nutcracker Collection | Mini Haul

Each year Mac bring out a limited edition collection around Christmas time and beauty lovers go craaazy for it, so much so that it always sells out. I decided I'd treat myself to a few bits from this years collection which is themed around The Nutcracker, as it all looked so stunning and I didn't want to miss out.

When the title says 'Mini Haul', I really do mean mini haul as I could only afford two items (student problems!), although I would of loved to try out the other Magic Dust Powder in 'Sweet Vision' and some of the pigments.

The first thing I decided on was the Magic Dust Power in Yum Yum Yum. I'd heard a lot of bloggers raving about Sweet Vision which was unfortunately sold out, but Yum Yum Yum is more suited to me anyway as I'm pale so usually go for more brighter pinks. First of all, I am in love with the packaging on this collection. The whole collection is almost neon pink and a deep plum purple colour, which i think contrast beautifully. I also love that the blush has stars engraved into it, soo pretty!

When applied the blush is a lovely perky pink colour and also has a bit of fine glitter which gives a lovely healthy look. It's not too pigmented but I quite like that as I can either build it up on it's own or use it as a topper paired with another blush.

The next thing I grabbed was a lipstick called So Good For You. It caught my eye as it's described as an intense, cool-toned, matte red lipstick, which just screamed christmas glam to me! I've been on the hunt for the perfect red lipstick and I think I've finally found my match. The first time I applied this lipstick I fell in love. It's just the perfect shade for me and makes your teeth look whiter, what's not to love?! It also has an amazing staying power.

I can't wait to wear these products during the festive season, and I've already decided on wearing So Good For You on Christmas day!

What about you? Have you tried anything from the Nutcracker range this year? If not, which products tickle your fancy? Let me know in the comments, let's chat!

My Time with Urban Decay in Newcastle

Urban Decay is one of my favourite brands, their Naked palette lead me into the world of eyeshadow, so you can imagine how excited I was to be invited to Newcastle for an event held by them at Debenhams.

I got the train down with my friend Grace from Love, Ellena Grace and we then met up with the lovely Beth from Polished Couture.

On arrival we had a few photos taken by the photographer and then helped ourselves to a cheeky glass of fizz and some Lindt chocolates.

We then went to sit down with everyone else to watch our hosts from Urban Decay tell us their top tips and tricks with UD products, along with some demonstrations and information about their new products. Another quick thing to mention is that I absolutely love the fact that there was a male make up artist who used the products himself, big up on gender equality!

We got the chance to have a look at some of their new products including the colour correction concealers, their latest Vice palette and a selection of their make up brushes (softest brushes ever!!).

We then had a bite to eat courtesy of Rub and made our way downstairs to the Urban Decay counter where we could browse through the products we'd just seen and have the chance to make any purchases.

After a lot of consideration (and swatching) I decided to treat myself to a Vice lipstick. Urban Decay had a huge release a few months ago with the Vice lipsticks as they released 100 shades all at once, lipstick heaven! I picked up the shade Weirdo which is a cream formula.

I tried it out for the first time on bonfire night and I'm in love, it's a lovely nude with a hint of pink which really brightens up my face. I have a feeling I'll be carrying this one around in my bag and I love the consistency, it's really creamy and moisturising but not too thick.

Along with the lipstick I also went home with a fab goodie bag, in which we got some samples of their powder foundation, blushes, eyeshadow primer and I was also lucky enough to get a small bottle of their infamous Setting Spray. I've been wanting to try the setting spray for ages and apparently it works wonders when sprayed on eyeshadow brushes to intensify shades so I can't wait to put it to the test!

Thank you so much to ELLEfluence for arranging the event and to the amazing Urban Decay hosts who were so lovely!

Have you any of you guys tried out some of the Urban Decay products that I've mentioned? Do you love the brand as much as I do? Let me know in the comments, as always I'd love to chat!

My October Faves

It's been a while since Just Lucy's Life has seen a favourites post. The reason for that is partly because I'm a student and can't afford to try out a lot of the products I'd like to each month (anybody else with me on this one?!), partly because I've stuck to the same routine, but also because I couldn't decide whether I liked showing you all my faves better on here or over on Youtube. However, I've decided to stick to my blog for this months favourites.

I've been loving quite a few new products this month, and I've also rekindled my love for others. Now that Autumn is in full swing I've loved switching up my make up routine, especially when it comes to brown toned lip colours, I've really got on to that trend! So here are my October faves, enjoy!

I'll start off with the Molten Metal nail varnish from Barry M. This was something that I'd heard Zoella mention, and the other week I finally decided to pick one up. For just £3.99 I couldn't resist and it's quickly become one of my go-to nail colours. The shade I picked up is a lovely golden, copper colour which is perfect for Autumn or the festive season, and as always with Barry M nail varnish, it applies easily and dries quickly which is great for lazy people like me.

Two of the products that I've rekindled my love for is the Mary Lou Manizer from The Balm and my Naked Flushed trio from Urban Decay. The Mary Lou Manizer is just such a lovely golden highlighter, and I love it because you can apply a little during the day or build it up for a stunning night time glow. I've also been loving the highlighter in the Urban Decay trio which I got when I went to New York 2 years ago. I've been trying not to use it too much as I recently got told the shade I got has now been discontinued, but I've hit the pan on the highlighter and bronzer. The highlighter is more white which I think gives a really nice healthy glow, and using the bronzer and fresh pink blush alongside with it gives a gorgeous finish.

Moving on to the higher end products, I just have to start with the Master Palette by Mario. You can read my full review here, but this has become my go-to palette before a night out. The pigmentation is insane and I'm so glad I got my hands on this highly anticipated palette before it sold out. I've also found my new favourite brow product in Benefit's 'Precisely, My Brow' pencil. The fine tip allows an easy but natural application, and it lasted me a good 2 and a half months before running out so I will definitely be repurchasing another one soon. The Tattoo Liner from Kat Von D is another high end product that's been crowned a new go-to, this liner is so easy to apply and is worth all the hype it's been getting.

Moving on to the Bondi Sands tan. If you follow my blog then you'll already know my love for this tan after I wrote a review on it here, but recently after losing my tanning mitt I had no other option but to apply it with a sock. Yep, you read that right, a sock. However, even when applied with a sock it still provided a perfect, natural and non-streaky application.. officially the best tan ever!

And finally, as it's only just been released about a week or so ago this was quite a late favourite this month, but a huge fave none the less! I've been on the hunt for the perfect, brown toned, matte lip product ever since I posted my top 5 Autumn lips post. I used to stay away from brown tones on my lips as I'm blonde and fair, but I found my perfect match in Rimmel London's 'Trendsetter' from their new matte lipstick range. Not only is it a stunning colour, but it's also got a lovely formula as, although it's matte, it's still super creamy which I adore! I just wish I discovered it earlier as it definitely would have been included in my top lip products for Autumn post.

I hope you enjoyed this (quite chatty) monthly favourites post, I really enjoyed writing it!

What about you guys? What products have you been loving throughout October? Let me know in the comments, I'd love to hear your faves!
