My Time with Urban Decay in Newcastle

7 November 2016

Urban Decay is one of my favourite brands, their Naked palette lead me into the world of eyeshadow, so you can imagine how excited I was to be invited to Newcastle for an event held by them at Debenhams.

I got the train down with my friend Grace from Love, Ellena Grace and we then met up with the lovely Beth from Polished Couture.

On arrival we had a few photos taken by the photographer and then helped ourselves to a cheeky glass of fizz and some Lindt chocolates.

We then went to sit down with everyone else to watch our hosts from Urban Decay tell us their top tips and tricks with UD products, along with some demonstrations and information about their new products. Another quick thing to mention is that I absolutely love the fact that there was a male make up artist who used the products himself, big up on gender equality!

We got the chance to have a look at some of their new products including the colour correction concealers, their latest Vice palette and a selection of their make up brushes (softest brushes ever!!).

We then had a bite to eat courtesy of Rub and made our way downstairs to the Urban Decay counter where we could browse through the products we'd just seen and have the chance to make any purchases.

After a lot of consideration (and swatching) I decided to treat myself to a Vice lipstick. Urban Decay had a huge release a few months ago with the Vice lipsticks as they released 100 shades all at once, lipstick heaven! I picked up the shade Weirdo which is a cream formula.

I tried it out for the first time on bonfire night and I'm in love, it's a lovely nude with a hint of pink which really brightens up my face. I have a feeling I'll be carrying this one around in my bag and I love the consistency, it's really creamy and moisturising but not too thick.

Along with the lipstick I also went home with a fab goodie bag, in which we got some samples of their powder foundation, blushes, eyeshadow primer and I was also lucky enough to get a small bottle of their infamous Setting Spray. I've been wanting to try the setting spray for ages and apparently it works wonders when sprayed on eyeshadow brushes to intensify shades so I can't wait to put it to the test!

Thank you so much to ELLEfluence for arranging the event and to the amazing Urban Decay hosts who were so lovely!

Have you any of you guys tried out some of the Urban Decay products that I've mentioned? Do you love the brand as much as I do? Let me know in the comments, as always I'd love to chat!

  1. Fab post - this looks like such an amazing event!
I've used the naked eye shadows before and also the eye shadow primer which works wonders for keeping your eye shadow in place! I've also heard great things about the setting spray, you'll have to let me know if it's any good :)
