Non-classic Songs You Need In Your Christmas Playlist | Blogmas Day 8

8 December 2016

I think we can all agree that one of the best parts of Christmas is the songs. As soon as I start hearing Mariah Carey singing those high notes in 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' it puts me straight in the festive mood! Today however, I'm going to tell you the non-classic songs you need in your Christmas playlist. I mean, we all love a bit of Wham, right? But these songs are also some crackers! (pun intended)

  • Cascada // Last Christmas - who knew bass lines and Christmas classics go so well together? Cascada songs take me back to my childhood when I used to blast them out of my Sony Ericsson phone (that white and orange one that everyone had) or when I used to belt my very out of tune voice to Everytime We Touch on Singstar with my friend Grace. This version of Last Christmas is one of my favourites and is one of the most played in my playlist.
  • Ashley Tisdale // Last Christmas - Another childhood hero (the Suite Life of Zack & Cody was the best!) who has released a fab version of Last Christmas. I love this because it's a bit more soft and magical but also has a beat.
  • Jingle Bell Rock // The Vamps - I heard this whilst buying some Christmas LUSH goodies (see my giveaway here) and I added it to my Spotify playlist as soon as I got home. I love this version and the song Jingle Bell Rock always reminds me of Mean Girls!
  • Santa Baby // Ariana Grande - I just love anything Ariana Grande sings, but her version of Santa Baby is up there with the best. It's super flirty and also features Liz Gillies who was her co-star as Jade in Victorious.
  • Santa Tell Me // Ariana Grande - Another Ariana Grande song that I just had to include. This song is an original by Ariana and is one of the first songs I go to when listening to Christmas songs.
  • Christmas Wrapping // Glee Cast - Glee was always on point when it came to Christmas covers, and I'd actually never heard of this song until I heard it on the show and now it's one of my faves!
  • Underneath The Tree // Kelly Clarkson - This is a good Christmas song to get you up and dancing around the Christmas tree! It's a really upbeat, feel-good, festive song.
I hope today's post has expanded your Christmas playlist to help you have a sing and get in the festive mood!
