The Royal Peach Palette from Kylie Cosmetics

Is it possible to be in love with an eyeshadow palette?

When I came home to the Royal Peach Palette from Kylie Cosmetics waiting for me, I ran upstairs and scraped the last bit of daylight to take some pictures for this post as I just couldn't wait to swatch the stunning colours and try the palette out for myself! Get ready for a chatty post because I have A LOT to say on this beauty!

The first thing that drew me in to this palette was the colours. Peachy colours are everywhere at the moment and I love the peach toned shades in this palette! However, I also love how diverse this palette is. Along with the peachy shades it also features some stunning shades including red, gold, lilac and of course that amazing royal blue colour!

There's also a good range of finishes with the palette being pretty much half and half when it comes to mattes and metallics. There really is an endless amount of looks you could create with this palette and I think that's why I'm already so excited about it even though I've only had the chance to test it out once so far.

When I first tried out the palette the red shade Duke drew me in, so I created my look around this shade using Sandy in the crease and on my bottom lash line along with Cinnamon. I then added Duke all over the lid and on the outer corner of my bottom lash line. I've never tried out an eyeshadow look using red/orange tones but it's going to become a go-to look as I loved how much it made the green in my eyes pop!

Another thing that I have to mention is that this is Kylie's first palette that features a mirror and brush. I love the mirror, it's a really good size and handy for on the go. I also love the look of the brush but I'm not a huge fan of the bristles, they feel a bit harsh to me, but I did use it on my crease and it gave a good finish and was easy to blend with.

I really can't praise this palette enough, including it's gorgeous packaging! I think packaging is really important in a product, and I love the box it comes in showing Kylie's eyes wearing some of the shades featured in the palette and the white and rose gold theme on the palette itself.

The one bad thing I would say is that the shadows have kind of a chemically smell, but as long as they provide good pigment that lasts all day, which they do, then I'm happy! Overall I'm over the moon with this product and I can't wait to play with it some more.

Have you tried out any of Kylie's eyeshadow palettes?

A New Found Love for YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Lipsticks

Just before Christmas I went on a little pre-Christmas shopping trip in York (which you can read all about here) and gave myself an early present from me to me in the shape of a YSL lipstick from the Rouge Volupte Shine collection. This is my first product from YSL and although, for a lipstick, the price is pretty high at £26, it was so worth it! So worth it that I decided to treat myself to another one a few days ago.

The first shade I got was 47 'Beige Blouse' as it seemed like a really nice mauve/pink toned lipstick that was quite a natural 'my lips but better' shade. The first thing I fell in love with about this product was the packaging, I'm not normally a fan of gold but it's so super pretty! I call it my fancy lipstick.

I also love the formula. It's described as an oil-in-stick formula as it's made with 60% oils, meaning it effortlessly glides on and is really hydrating for your lips. Half the time I actually use this instead of lip balm now as they keep my lips so soft, even in this cold weather!

A few days ago I had just been told the news that I had gotten a new job (YAY!) so I decided to treat myself to another YSL lipstick as a little pat on the back, this time in a lovely coral colour in the shade 15 'Coral Intuitive'. I think this one is actually my favourite out of the 2 now, it has a real brightening effect! You know those lip colours that you just feel add a bit more life to your face?

Overall, these YSL lipsticks have made a warm welcome on my lipstick stand and I'm sure they'll be getting some friends to join them in the near future. I'd recommend them to anyone if you want to splash out on a luxury beauty product!

Have you ever tried anything from YSL? The Touche Eclat foundation is next on my list!

4 January 2017

Hello, 2017!

Well, hello there 2017! It's nice to meet you.

After some of the events in 2016 (I still can't believe that Trump is a thing) I think a lot of people are glad to see the back of 2016, although it was a pretty great year for me personally! You can read all about my 2016 here.

I don't make new year's resolutions as I never stick to them, I always find that the more pressure I put on myself to stick to something the more I want to avoid it, so instead I make some goals that I'd like to achieve throughout the year and I thought I'd share them with you all today.

Up my style game - I practically live in jeans and baggy jumpers, which I'll definitely still do some of the time, but I do want to wear more 'trendy' clothes and jump on to the fast-paced fashion band wagon sometimes.

Experiment with make up more
- I'm one of those people who when I find a product I like, I'll stick to it and use nothing else until it runs out. This isn't a bad thing because of course you need to use what works for you, but I also want to experiment with make up more and change up my make up routine more often. My love of make up has only grown in 2016 and I can't wait to discover more amazing products this year.

Say 'yes' more - I'm gonna hold my hands up, I'm a worrier! I worry about worrying, but this isn't the healthiest way to live my life. I'm also 20 years old now (basically a Grandma!) so I told myself that it's about time I stop letting anxiety make me miss amazing opportunities. For example, I've decided that I'm probably going to live in a student house next year, which is a huge thing for me! I'm super nervous about becoming that independent but I know it's going to be amazing and probably a big learning curve for me. I'm also venturing into Youtube which is something that I've been wanting to get into for ages but haven't had the confidence to try! You can check out my channel here.

Be more organised - I've always been quite an unorganised person, although I prefer to say I'm just pretty 'chilled'. However, I'm a Uni student now and I definitely need to start being more organised when it comes to assignments and things like that. I'm also hoping to upload on my blog/channel on the same days every week, I'm thinking blog at least every Wednesday and upload videos on Sundays.

Put 110% effort into this blog - After completing Blogmas last year, I well and truly got bitten by the blogging bug! I've been blogging weekly for the past 2 years, but I'm hoping to up my game and blog at least twice weekly this year. Blogging has always been my hobby and passion, but it recently dawned on me that this could actually become a job for me. How amazing would that be?! The thought of earning money from something that I just love doing is an amazing thought for me and someday I hope for it to be a reality.

So that's what I'm aiming to achieve in 2017! What about you, what are your goals? I'd love to hear them in the comments!
