Life Updates with Lucy | 1

8 March 2017

When I started Just Lucy's Life I wanted it to be a space on the internet that was filled with all the things that I loved which is mostly beauty and general things that I loved and enjoyed doing thrown in there to give you more of an insight into who I am as a person rather than just a beauty blogger, so today I've decided to start a new series on JLL called 'Life Updates with Lucy' where I basically just give you all an update on my life and where I'm at, so go and grab a cuppa and let's have a catch up!

There's been a lot of change in my life so far in 2017, my boyfriend finally came home from his deployment of 4 months in the Falklands, I started my second semester at Uni (and came out of my first semester with two 2:1's and a first, buzzing!), I started a new job at House of Fraser and about a week ago my Dad found out that he's bagged himself a new job too.

I don't know about you, but I don't like change. If too much changes at once I feel so off balance and I suppose that's why I'm so glad I've got this blog because it's such a constant in my life. Between working, going to and from my Mum's, Dad's and boyfriend's house and trying to find a social life and time to blog in between it's fair to say the last couple of months have been pretty hectic, which is why you may of noticed that I didn't post as much as I normally would've last month.

However, I'm starting to find a balance. With change comes new challenges, and it's made me realise that I'm at a very important time in my life. In May I'll be 21 and I feel like I'm at the age where I've got the whole world in front of me. I'm definitely getting into the mindset that if you want something then go and get it, because life's too short for missed opportunities.

In a few weeks my Dad will be packing his bags to head to Switzerland for 2-3 months, and then after that Canada. I'll hold my hands up and admit that I am 100% a daddy's girl, my dad is one of my best friends and we have a great relationship so it's definitely going to be hard not seeing him for that amount of time, but at the same time I'm over the moon that he's got a job that's an amazing opportunity for him, and on the upside it could also be a chance for me to travel more and see more of the world whilst visiting him, which is pretty exciting!

I think it's always best to look for a silver lining in a bad situation and I hope you've enjoyed my first life update post! I'm hoping for this to become a monthly thing so you'll all be able to get to know me a little bit more as a person and it can be almost like a catch up with a friend!

Lucy x
