Trying Out Turtle Bay's Summer Menu

2 July 2017

A few months ago myself along with some other bloggers got invited to Turtle Bay to celebrate their launch and to try out all the Caribbean inspired food and cocktails they had to offer, and recently they invited me back to try out their shiny new summer menu.

I was really excited to see what new additions Turtle Bay had added to their menu for the summer season and, after the last event, my expectations were high! And I was not disappointed. I went with my Mum, brother, and boyfriend. It was all of their first time at Turtle Bay and they were really impressed.

As it's 2 for 1 cocktails, I got 2 Raspberry Reggae's. The cocktails were bursting with fruity raspberry flavour with just the right hint of rum. One thing that Turtle bay is famous for is their cocktails which mostly include rum imported from the Caribbean Islands themselves. I'm not normally a fan of rum but mixed with the fruity flavours they hit the spot!

Next was food. I opted to go for the pulled chicken wrap which included pulled chicken, sweet potato and scotch bonnet herb mayo with a side of caribbean slaw and spicy fries. Yum! The fries were lovely and quite similar to Nando's Peri Peri chips and the wrap was amazing. I loved the hint of sweet potato in the wrap and the pulled chicken was 10/10, it felt super summery and I liked that it was quite healthy! I had a bit of the jerk BBQ sauce along with my meal and it was unreal. I also really like the rustic style of the dishes that the food is served in, it gives Turtle Bay are real edge!

Then came my favourite part, desert! I was torn between the banoffee cheesecake (which my Mum had and said was delish!) and the brownie and ice cream but in the end I went with the brownie, I'm a sucker for chocolate! The brownie's were served warm with a scoop of ice cream and were really indulgent and chocolatey, just what you want.

Along with the cocktails I also decided to try one of Turtle Bay's own ciders. The Turtle Bay Cider is described to be 'sunshine in a bottle' with hints of refreshing apple, and it definitely was refreshing. So, if you're a cider fan, I'd definitely recommend the Turtle Bay cider.

By the end of the meal we were all very satisfied. The service was a little slow at times but the staff were lovely throughout and explained they were having a busy night, which is not surprising with how much of a hit the restaurant is. I'd definitely recommend getting yourself down to Turtle Bay to try out their summer menu, you won't regret it.

Have you ever been to Turtle Bay?
