A Reflection on 2015 & Aims for 2016!

31 December 2015

Ok, seriously, where has 2015 gone?! I don't know about you but this year seems to have flown by for me.

2015 has been an alright year. Not an amazing one but not a bad one either. However, I feel like a lot has changed this year. I finished my apprenticeship, started studying media production at uni, some of my closest friends moved away, I've made some new friends and after years of having light blonde hair, half of my hair is now brown! (Ok, so that last one wasn't that much of a big deal but it's a huge change for me!)

If I look back on 2015, one thing really stands out to me. At the beginning of the year I felt like I was in a really good place. I was confident in what I was doing and I was happy within myself. I was so sure of myself. Fast forward a few months and I found myself in a relationship. My first serious relationship. My first love? Maybe, but it was definitely my first experience of love. Fast forward again, this time 6 months later, and I started to go through my first proper break up. My heart was broken and in all honesty, it still is a little bit. After the break up I felt kinda lost and I didn't realise how much a break up could throw you off balance. I just didn't feel like myself anymore, I didn't really care about much anymore.

However, I'm definitely starting to pick myself back up now. Fall 7 times, stand up 8, right? And everything happens for a reason. So with this in mind, here are my aims for 2016:

  1. My number 1 aim for 2016 is to get myself back to the person I used to be. I want to be that confident, independent girl again (who don't need no man).
  2. I want to put a lot more time and effort in to this blog. I'm proud of myself for keeping this up for a year without a second thought, but I really want to improve the quality of my content.
  3. I want to be an all-round more positive person. Positive mind, positive vibes.
  4. I really want to try in my uni work, meaning not falling behind and actually coming out with a decent grade!
  5. I want to interact with bloggers more on social media more! This might seem like a bit of a weird one but I love things like blogger Twitter chats, I feel like they really help the blogger community to support one another and it can also help build some great friendships!
  6. I need to get back to eating more healthier. I've been pretty good at it this year but then uni and Christmas happened.
  7. Finally, and this is probably my biggest aim, I really want to be able to call myself an award winning blogger by the end of the year. I know that's hugely ambitious but I figure why not just go for it? Even if I'm just nominated or shortlisted for an award I'll still be super happy!
And speaking of blog awards.. I've just entered the UK Blog Awards. It's a long shot but why not? Voting starts 4th January so I'll be releasing a link to my voting page then!

I've just entered the UK Blog Awards #UKBA16

So those are my aims for 2016, what about you? Let me know in the comments I'd love to hear!

I hope you've all had a great year and here's to a better 2016!

  1. Uni work is such a big aim for me too, I just get so lazy when it comes to it and I really need to change that!
