Mac Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour | Review

21 January 2016

After investing in my first Mac lipsticks last year, which I talked about in my 2015 Beauty Favourites, my obsession is only starting to grow. Which is why when I saw that Mac have recently released a Matte Liquid Lipcolour, I just had to grab one while I could!

When searching on the website, the nude colours were the first ones that caught my eye. However, they had all sold out. Damn! So my next choice was a brighter option called 'To Matte With Love'.

It looked like a gorgeous deep pink colour and I'm a huge fan of a matte lip so I bit the bullet and bought it, hoping that it would look just as amazing in real life. I think that's always the risky thing about ordering make up online, you never know exactly what the colour will be like.

However, this definitely did not disappoint!

First of all, I just love the packaging. The classic and iconic Mac lipstick lid is still there and the bottom is in a clear round tube so you can see the colour shining through.

On application, this product is creamy and feels quite luxurious with the soft brush, and dries within about 30 seconds into a lovely matte texture.

The colour is very pigmented, not that I expected anything less from Mac, and it's a stunning deep Fuchsia shade with blue undertones which is exactly the colour I'd normally go for, so I love love love it!

I decided to put this liquid lipsticks durability to the test and wore it all day to see how it lasted. Even after having meals and a few cups of tea, it was still on pretty perfectly, with the only place that had faded was the very inner part of my lips so it was barely noticeable. I also love how it almost smudged off instead of peeling which I find that some liquid lipsticks can do with them being so dry.

Overall, even at the price of £21, I love this new addition to my Mac collection so much that I am dying to pick up some more. Hopefully the nudes will come back in stock soon!

Have you ever tried this product? If so, what did you think? Let me know in the comments!
