Kat Von D | London Calling

23 September 2016

The moment I've been waiting on for months is finally here, Kat Von D's make up range has officially arrived in the UK! After lusting over Kat's range countless times on social media, of course I jumped at the chance to get my hands on it the day it became available at Debenhams.

It was hard to decide which item/s I wanted to try out first. Of course, I wanted to splash out and buy whatever tickled my fancy (which was a lot), but since I'm returning to student life next week (help!) I opted for the limited edition set of mini's named London Calling.

This set features 3 of Kat's absolute favourites from her range; her Tattoo Liner in Trooper, an Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Double Dare and a Studded Kiss Lipstick in Lolita.

I was super excited as the Tattoo Liner is the product that I've had my eyes on for too long, and I've also heard great reviews about her liquid lipsticks, so I thought that getting a set of mini's (for a bargain price of £19) was the best way to try multiple products out while still staying within my budget.

The liquid lipstick was the first thing I tried as I couldn't wait to see if it lived up to it's name. First of all, I love the colour. It's quite a dark pink nude with a touch of brown in it which I love, as being so pale brown tones sometimes wash me out. On application it was soft, creamy, super pigmented and dried within about a minute. It actually quite reminded me of the Nyx soft matte lip creams in texture, but it definitely has a longer staying power! I ate a meal and the lip colour was still pretty much intact apart from the middle of my lip, but a quick touch up sorted that out straight away. It also isn't drying at all, which is a huge bonus in liquid lipsticks! I'll definitely be buying more shades in the future.

The Tattoo Liner was the next out of the set that I tried. I was going out on the night and wanted to look my best, so I decided to give the Tattoo Liner a whirl as I've heard so many good things about it, and it didn't disappoint. This liner seriously glides on the lid, it's so easy to apply. The thin and pointed tip allows different looks whether that be a fine line or super bold wings. It dries pretty much instantly, is boldly black, has a flexible tip which I found made application even easier and lasted all night. I also got a sample with this set with a second mini of this liner, so when they both run out I will definitely be buying the full size version!

And last, but definitely not least, the Studded Kiss lipstick. This was the last product I tried purely for the reason that I wanted to keep it looking untouched for pictures for this post (blogger problems!), but the night after I took the pictures I finally tried it out and fell in love.

So many bloggers rave about the shade Lolita and now I know why. It's the perfect mauve toned nude. It also has a hint of red in it creating a lovely, vampy look. It looks quite similar to double dare on the swatches above, but I think it's darker when actually on the lips. I love how pigmented and creamy it is, and I can see this being a go-to this Autumn!

Overall, in case you couldn't already tell, I've fallen in love with Kat Von D's range so far! I'm so glad I got this set and will definitely be building up my collection in the coming months.

What about you? Have you tried anything from Kat Von D's range yet? And you are as excited that the range is finally available in the UK as I am? Let me know in the comments, I'd love to hear your thoughts!
