Goodbye, 2016!

31 December 2016

To quote Kylie Jenner, this year has been a year of, like, realizing stuff. I'm just kidding but in all seriousness I actually have found out a lot about myself, blogging and just life in general this year.

To think that I started off this year on a totally different course in a different part of the country, single and with only 1 year of blogging behind me is just crazy. I feel like I've really developed as a person and as a blogger and I'm actually pretty content with where my life is at at the moment, which is something I haven't been able to say for a while.

This year I decided to change course from a foundation degree in Media Production at Newcastle College to an honours degree in Media Studies at Teesside University, and I could not have made a better decision! Not only am I loving my course but I've also met the best bunch of friends for which I am so grateful and I'm very excited to see what the next 2 and a half years hold for me.

Another highlight of this year for me was my first festival. This August I went to V Festival and it was actually probably my highlight of 2016. I loved everything about it (except paying £6 for a cold, soggy bacon bun!) and can't wait to go again in 2017!

Speaking of V Fest.. This is actually where I got to know my now boyfriend and after that weekend we were pretty much official, so that's another reason why V Fest now holds a place in my heart and why 2016 has been a good year for me! Me and Jordan have already got so much planned for 2017 and I can't wait to spend more time with him and grow even closer than we already are, I'm learning a lot about being in a relationship and I think I've found a keeper!

Needless to say, another thing I've gained this year is another year of blogging experience! I had my first FROW experience, worked with some well established brands, upped my photography game (although I've still got a long way to go) and I just feel like I've developed my writing style and over all look, Just Lucy's Life has become a bit more 'me'. I've also learnt that you can't be perfect all the time, but instead imperfect is more perfect than trying to make everything the best it can be as life just doesn't work that way, and there will always be somebody better than you, but that's ok! Creating my own style along the way this year instead of trying to be exactly like the bigger bloggers I look up to was a big realisation this year. Always, do you!

That's pretty much it as far as 2016 goes. Reflecting back this has been a pretty great year and I'm hoping 2017 is going to be even better! I'm more determined than ever with my blog (and I'm also giving Youtube a go!) and I'm excited to see what 2017 brings me.

I wish you all a happy, healthy and amazing new year!

Lucy x
