Trying out Tarte.. Including Shape Tape!

4 April 2018

I won't lie, when I saw that Tarte were doing free shipping, an order was made within 15 minutes...

Being a beauty blogger in the UK can be really frustrating sometimes as the US gets earlier releases and have so many more brands that aren't available here without a ridiculous shipping fee, including Tarte. However, a few weeks ago I spotted they were doing free international shipping so I jumped at the chance to make an order.

Of course my first stop was the infamous Shape Tape concealer in the shade Fair. I almost felt like a bad beauty blogger for not having this cult fave in my collection, but now it's finally sitting proudly in my make up drawer and I am officially obsessed. Usually Collection's Lasting Perfection concealer is my go-to for under eyes and dark circles, however Shape Tape might be giving it a run for it's money.

Although it's a little pricey at £20, a little bit goes a LONG way. Two small swipes is more than enough to brighten and cover my dark circles under my eyes and more. When blended it gives a super full coverage and a flawless finish. I've tested out a few times now for wearability including a long shift at the pub on bank holiday and it did not budge. I'll definitely be repurchasing when this one runs out.

Along with Shape Tape I also picked up a set of mini's called #naturalartistry for around £16, which included the Pro Glow To Go palette which has 2 highlighters, Gleam and Burst, and a bronzer in the shade Chisel, a mini Tartiest Lash Paint mascara and a mini Lip Paint in the shade Exposed. Even though they're all mini's, for £16 I thought this was an amazing deal and a great way to try out a few bits from the brand as this was my first purchase from them.

Out of the highlighters Burst is definitely my favourite. Although I have pale skin Pearl is a bit too harsh and cold for my skin tone, Burst gives a gorgeous champagne gold highlight that I would normally go for. The bronzer Chisel is also amazing. It's not too dark and has the slightest bit of warmth to it, making it amazing for contouring and warming up the face at the same time. My cheekbones slay when I use this so I can see it becoming a fave. The mascara worked really well for me and gave my lashes a lot of volume which I love and the lip paint is just stunning. It's a gorgeous rosey nude that doesn't budge and isn't drying at all.

And along with all of that I even got this gorgeous make up brush for just £2 as part of the deal!

Overall I'm impressed with my first products from Tarte and I know I'll be using them a lot, especially Shape Tape!

Have you tried anything from Tarte? If so, what's your fave product from them?
