Too Faced Born This Way: The Natural Nudes Palette Review

14 August 2020

I've found it, the perfect staple eyeshadow palette. If you've been following this blog for a while you'll know that I always come out with the old nutshell "I really didn't need another eyeshadow palette", but when I saw Too Faced's latest launch it wasn't a want, it was a need.

When I saw Too Faced were releasing a new all neutral palette I was so excited. If you're an OG then you will know my first eyeshadow palette review was on Too Faced's Chocolate Bon Bon's palette (ah, the nostalgia) and my love for the TF eyeshadow formula has stayed true over the years. The shades blend out so softly, are buildable, the shimmers give the perfect pop and there's little to no fall out.

This palette is full of neutrals suitable for all skin tones which I really liked about this palette, it's inclusive but I also knew looking at it that I would use every single shade. With a spectrum of light to dark shades with a mix of mattes and shimmers, there really is something for everyone. There's also a range of warm and cool tones, personally I normally use warm tones as I feel it suits my complexion better, but I've also dipped into a few of the cooler shades and have really liked them.

My go-to look for everyday make up is a neutral shade all over the crease and a shimmer blended on the lid, simple but classic and gives more definition to your eyes. This palette is perfect for that and I can mix and match all of the shades to create different but subtle soft glam looks. I've also changed up my routine a bit since using this palette and have started making a soft wing with the darkest matte shade 'Truffle' and an angled brush. I've found this lengthens my eyes and gives me that 'fox eye' look without it over powering the colour on my lid (hooded eye problems, ugh) and it also takes a lot less time than a normal wing would, win-win!

My favourite shimmer shades to use so far have been Sparkling Sand, Rose Gold and Golden Light, Golden Light especially just gives the most amazing, sun-kissed, golden glow, perfect for summer! And my favourite matte shades to dip into are Seashell, Petal, Maple and Truffle. Although, I can honestly say that I would use any shade in this palette without a doubt.

What are you thoughts on Too Faced's latest release - does it sound like your cup of tea or do you prefer a bit more colour?

Let me know in the comments!
