What I Got For Christmas

I can't believe Christmas is already over, it always goes by way too quickly doesn't it?! However I had an amazing day spent with my loved ones and I consumed (probably too many) pigs in blankets, chocolate and alcohol. I also was lucky enough to receive some amazing presents so I thought I'd do a post showing you all the main bits I got as personally What I Got for Christmas posts are some of my favourites and you all voted for one over on Twitter!

First of all, there is one main present that isn't in the photo and that's because it's a TV! I've had the same tiny TV for literally 10 years and really fancied a bigger one, so my Dad very generously treat me to one! I love it, may all the movie days and Netflix binges commence. My next main present was off my Mum and that was the 45mm camera lens for my Olympus Pen! This lens really is a game changer, the quality is just unreal. I can't wait to up my Insta game in 2018 and take lots more outfit pics, keep your eyes peeled!

I got a few fragrances including Ted Baker 'Ella', Tanya Burr's Velvet Vanille and an Armani fragrance so needless to say I'll be smelling like a dream in 2018! I also got a few things on the make up front. My Mum got me 2 Mac lip liners (Stripdown & Spice), a Mac lipstick (Velvet Teddy) and a Stila Magnificent Metals liquid eyeshadow in Retro Rose Gold which is simply stunning. And along with the beauty I also got the cutest little pamper bath set from Zoella's range.

I also got a whole lotta LUSH! I got some bath bombs, bubble bars, and bath melts from my Mum and Brother incuding my faves Shoot for the Stars and The Comforter, and I also got a £20 gift voucher from my Aunty so it's fair to say I'm stocked up for a while! And of course as I'm a media student a DVD had to be on the list and this year it was Legend. I watched this movie for the first time this year and have been obsessed since, Tom Hardy's acting is something else and not to mention how fit he looks as Reggie Kray!

The other 2 big presents I got were both something I had been needing for a while, a comfy coat and a good pair of earphones! The coat is from Zara and it's soo dreamy, it's super soft, comfy and the colour is the perfect mauve pink. The earphones are from Beats and are white and rose gold (obv) and will come in handy on my commute to uni and gym sessions.

My Grandma gave us a few stocking filler type presents along with £100 spending money each so I decided to treat myself to a new Pandora ring. I've had my eye on the rose gold bow ring for so long and I'm so happy it's finally on my hand, it's just gorgeous.

I also took part in my first secret santa this year at work and I loved it. I got my Manager as my secret santa and it's clear she knows my taste to a T! Everything was baby pink and rose gold, so cute!

So that's pretty much it for my main presents and it's fair to say I got well and truly spoiled on Christmas Day and I'm so grateful for it all! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and I wish you all the best for 2018, let's make it amazing! What did you get for Christmas? Let me know in the comments I'd love to hear.

What I Got in my Amazon Beauty Advent Calendar

Last month I was surprised with this Amazon Beauty Advent Calendar by my Dad and to say I was excited to start opening the boxes every day was an understatement. I had searched high and low for a good beauty advent calendar that wasn't a crazy price for myself but nothing really called out to me. I didn't even know Amazon did a beauty advent calendar as it didn't come up when I was searching but I'm glad I didn't know about it because every day was a surprise.

I think this advent calendar was priced around £50-£60 (not totally sure as it was a gift!) but I'm really impressed with the range of products I got and the brands it included! Featuring huge brands such as Rimmel London, Maybelline, Laura Geller, Bourjois, Essie and Crabtree and Evelyn, this calendar is definitely worth it's price and more!

What I got (in no particular order!):

1. Dr Lipp Nipple Balm
2. Biore Pore Strips
3. Ardell Demi Wispies Lashes
4. Elegant Touch 'Lost in London' Nails
5. Percy & Reed Shine and Fragrance Hair Spray
6. Molton Brown Black Peppercorn Nourishing Body Lotion
7. James Read Sleep Mask Gradual Face Tan
8. L'oreal Elnett Satin Hairspray
9. Rimmel London Magnif'eyes Eyeshadow Palette in 'Keep Calm & Wear Gold'
10. Patisserie De Bain Sugared Violet Hand Cream
11. Bomb Cosmetics 'Cherry Bathe Well' Bath Bomb
12. Gatineau Age Benefit Cream
13. Essie Nail Polish in Fishnet Stockings
14. Crabtree & Evelyn Tarocco Orange Ultra-Moisturising Hand Therapy
15. Wunder Brow Dual Precision Brush
16. Bourjois Rouge Velvet lipstick in 'Flaming Rose'
17. Baylis & Harding Jasmine and Apple Blossom luxury hand gel
18. John Frieda Frizz Ease Conditioner
19. Barry M Nail Paint in 'Rock Star'
20. Laura Geller Baked Balance -n- Brighten Foundation in shade Fair
21. Balanceme Wonder Eye Cream
22. Bronnley Exotic Embers Rollerball Fragrance
23. Maybelline Baby Lips in 'Blueberry Boom'
24. Rituals Fresh Eucalyptus & Rosemary Refreshing Foaming Shower Gel

I love beauty advent calendars as you get stuff that you wouldn't necessarily pick up yourself and it's a great chance to try new products, and honestly I love every thing I got in this calendar which is quite rare! There's hand creams, moisturisers, make up, perfume, and even a bath bomb! And so much more. I know I will use every item (I've already used some of them as I've gone through the month!) and it really has been such a treat.

Some of my favourite items are the Bourjois lipstick, Ardell Demi Wispies lashes, Rimmel London eyeshadow palette, Dr Lipp Nipple Balm, Crabtree & Evelyn hand cream in Tarocco Orange and the Essie nail varnish, although I love everything I got!

So that's the end of my Christmas series this year! I hope you enjoyed reading the posts as much as I loved creating them, and I hope you all have the best Christmas! I'll be back with more posts soon but for now you can find me in my Elf PJ's, drinking hot chocolate and watching all the Christmas films I can before I go to bed.

Did you have a beauty advent calendar this year? What did you get? I'll definitely be looking into this one again next year!

4 Lip Choices This Christmas

For me, lipstick completes any make up look. Whether it's bold and bright or subtle and natural, the right lipstick always makes me feel amazing so today I've had a look through my (overcrowded) make up drawer and picked out 4 stunning lipsticks that would be amazing for Christmas day.

If you're a matte kinda gal, my first 2 picks are for you. First of all I've chosen the perfect red in 'Rubi's Cute' by Bourjois. It's the perfect, Christmas, red and the formula of these lipsticks is just insane. It's velvet yet matte, and stays on all day long! Just what you want to keep you feeling glamorous all throughout Christmas. However, if red isn't your thing, I've also chosen a nude option in the same lipstick called Flaming Rose. This is such a gorgeous rose nude with a sultry, sexy twist. Perfect for the festive season.

I've you're after something a little more sparkly then I've got you. Mac's Shimmer and Spice lipstick just screams Christmas. I've featured this on my blog quite a bit but I can't help but include it, it really is Christmas magic in a lipstick. With a plum coloured base and gold sparkles shining through, this will make your lips look luscious and plump, while adding a little sparkle to your look.

If bold lipsticks aren't your thing then this YSL Rouge Volupte Shine lipstick will give you a gorgeous sheen while adding a pretty pop of colour. I've chosen the shade Coral Intuitive as it's a lovely peachy coral shade which will give you a bright but subtle flush of colour on your lips this festive season while still keeping your lips moisturised.

So those are my top picks for lipsticks this Christmas, what about you? Which lip product will you be rocking on Christmas day?

My Faves from LUSH this Christmas

Every year I get excited to see which products LUSH have come up with for their Christmas collection, and this year I was spoilt for choice! There's so many fab new additions along with some returning faves such as the infamous Snow Fairy. As I've still got some Snow Fairy left over from last year, I've narrowed down the rest of this year's favourites in this post!

For bubble bars, the first item added to my basket was obviously Candy Mountain. This is one of the returning favourites and I pick one up every year. It smells a lot like Snow Fairy (I think it may even be the same scent?!) and it makes one dreamy bath. I also picked up the Christmas Cracker as it smells unreal! It's very citrusy so if you like lemon and citrus scents then you definitely need to pick this one up. I bet it will be very refreshing in a bath.

Moving onto bath bombs, I actually only picked one up this year and that was the popular favourite Golden Wonder. This is another LUSH product I pick up every year as I just love the scent and the green/blue colour it turns the bath water. It's a very relaxing product with notes of orange and lime and I'd recommend it to anyone.

I also picked up a bath melt which was the Snow Angel and this is another one I've tried before. I tried it for the first time last year and I loved how moisturising it was. As it contains cocoa butter it's super nourishing for the skin, just what you need during party season.

Then last but definitely not least, I picked up a new product which was the Berry Berry Christmas shower gel. I'm not sure if this is a new addition this year but it's the first time I've come across it and after smelling it in the shop I couldn't go home without one. It's glittery and the colour green of a Christmas tree, basically Christmas in a bottle! It has notes of cranberry and blueberry so it's lovely and fruity. I got the medium sized bottle as I loved it so much.

So that's what I picked up from LUSH this Christmas, what about you? What's your favourite product from this years collection?

Getting in the Festive Spirit

Christmas can be a really hectic time and sometimes, especially if your jobs still go on around and through the holidays like me, it can be hard to take it all in! So I've come up with a little post including all the things that have been helping me get in the festive mood.

First of all, I have to mention my new pyjamas! They're from Topshop and you best believe I've been living in them since they arrived. The top has Buddy the Elf on it and the writing 'Omg SANTA!' and on the back it says 'Santa's coming, I know him!' I just love them. The bottoms are a legging style which I find super cosy and have Elf related images on them such as syrup and candy canes. I also love this gingerbread man mug I got from Primark for just £2! It's fab for hot chocolates.

This year was the year I finally got my own mini tree. I went with a white one from Paperchase so it would match my room well and I think it looks quite chic! I got some fairy lights to go around it from Primark for £2.50 and a star and baubles from Poundworld which cost (you guessed it) just £1 each! I love how cute it looks and it was really budget friendly. It gives all the cosy vibes.

I also got some festive bedding for my room. This double set was just £11 from my local Boyes, bargain! I love that it's festive yet still quite simple and it's also reversible so on the other side the duvet and pillows are white with a red pattern.

And finally I got my nails done today! I went to Andrea at The Little Nail House last year for Christmas nails which you can read all about here, and this year I just had to go back for more. I love this year's designs even more than last year's, they're literally a Christmas explosion and I can't stop admiring them.

So those are a few things getting me in the festive spirit this year, what about you? What's your favourite thing to make you feel cosy and Christmassy?

White Peppermint Hot Chocolate Recipe

Christmas is just around the corner and one of my favourite things to do in the run up to christmas is settle down on the sofa in my Christmas pyjamas, stick a Christmas movie on and have a hot chocolate. This white peppermint hot chocolate is honestly dreamy and the perfect treat to settle down with in the lead up to Christmas, so if you want to find out how to make it then keep on reading!

- What you will need -

50g white chocolate chips
Peppermint extract
Semi-skimmed milk (you could also use full fat to make it more creamy!)
Whipped cream
Mini Marshmallows
Mug/cup
Small pan

- How to -

First of all, fill your mug with milk to see how much you need to fill it, then pour that milk into a small pan and place on the hob at a medium heat. Remember to keep stirring so it doesn't boil too much! Then once your milk is heated up, add in the white chocolate chips and a dash of peppermint extract. Be careful with the peppermint extract as too much can be really overpowering and take away from the simple, creamy taste of the white chocolate, I'd recommend about 4-5 drops. After the chocolate has fully melted it's time to pour it back into your chosen mug. Top with (lots of) whipped cream and mini marshmallows and drink!

Honestly I'm so pleased with how this turned out, it's so easy yet soo delicious! I hope you enjoyed this post and let me know if you make it yourself!

5 Products To Add Some Sparkle This Christmas

When I think of make up looks for the festive season I think of one thing... Sparkle! So today I've decided to show you all my favourite products for giving a bit (a lot) of sparkle this season.

If you read my post on the Whisper of Gilt highlighter and the Shimmer and Spice lipstick that I picked up from Mac's Snowball collection then you'll know how excited I was to use these for the festive season and they are definitely living up to expectations!

I've used the highlighter pretty much everyday since I got it (as you can probably tell!) and it gives the perfect healthy yet blinding glow! And the lipstick is such a gorgeous plum shade and the rosey gold sparkles shining through just screams Christmas.

I've got some more shades of Stila's Magnificent Metals liquid eyeshadows on my Christmas wish list this year. There really is no other product I can find that compares, the glittery flecks reflect so amazingly when the light hits them and totally makes your eyes pop.

I love a good glitter topper for my nails this time of year so these Essie nail varnishes in the shades Summit of Style and Sparkle on Top get used non stop! I especially love Sparkle on Top as it reminds me of snowflakes.

And last but definitely not least, my Kylie Cosmetics lipgloss in the shade Cupid is making a reappearance this season. As it's infused with actual diamond powder, it creates the prettiest, rosey, glittery lip. Love!

So those are my favourite products for adding a bit of sparkle to my make up throughout the Christmas period, what are yours? Let me know in the comments!

Hotel Chocolat is one of my first stops when it comes to buying special chocolate treats for someone as they have such a wide range of flavours and products, and everything tastes amazing! If the girl you're buying for has a sweet tooth then the chocolate tray or salted caramel & clementine hot chocolate would be perfect.

My Winter Skin Saviours

This time of year I feel like my skin needs a bit more TLC then usual. The cold weather can really dry out my skin and I've also found myself having a few breakouts lately, so today I'm going to tell you all about the products that have been saving my skin recently!

Nivea Rich Regenerating Night Cream

This cold, frosty weather can really take it's toll on my skin and dry it out, so I love to use this Night cream by Nivea to give my skin a good nourish over night, leaving my skin feeling lovely and moisturised when I wake up! It's super thick and feels pretty luxurious, so for just over £4 this moisturiser is a must for me! I buy it over and over again during the Winter.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Nourishing Lip Balm

I don't know about you but my lips constantly need moisturising during the colder months, day or night, so this Eight Hour lip balm was a great investment. Although it's quite pricey (20!) you only need a little bit at a time and the thick balm keeps my lips nourished for hours, just as the name says!

Tea Tree Oil from The Body Shop

As I mentioned earlier, I've been having quite a few breakouts recently which sucks as I normally don't get too many breakouts, but I guess the change in weather, going back to Uni and a busy lifestyle is taking it's toll! So I picked up this Tea Tree Oil form The Body Shop. I put it on just before I go to bed and the first time I used it I noticed a difference straight away. Tea Tree Oil is great for reducing breakouts and redness so I've been loving this product and it's definitely helping.

L'oreal Pure Clay Detox Mask

Another thing that's been helping my breakouts is this Pure Clay Detox Mask from L'oreal. I love a good face mask when my skin needs some extra attention as I feel like they really help, and when I saw the word 'Detox' in this mask I picked it up straight away. It's priced at £7.99 and you'd get quite a few uses out of it which is good. I really did feel like it helped as well. After using it my blemishes had visibly gone down and I felt like my skin was a lot clearer. I've been using it twice a week and I love the results it gives me.

Zoella Winter Wonder Hand

Zoella's hand cream last year was a go-to product for me, it smelt like gingerbread and lasted me ages, I still have some left now! So when I saw she was bringing out a newly scented version I had to pick it up. It's a great sized hand cream and you definitely get your money's worth as it's only £6! I also love the smell this year, it's so refreshing, and the hand cream itself gives my hands the nourishing they need this time of year.

So those are some products that have been saving my skin lately! What about you? Tell me some of your holy grail skincare products in the comments!

The Ultimate Festive Look with Bourjois

There's many things I love about Christmas, the sparkly lights, Christmas trees, spending time with family... but one thing I love in particular this time of year is experimenting with make up! Last week I was lucky enough to receive a Bourjois Voxbox full of make up goodies to create the perfect look for the festive season! So I thought this would be the perfect way to kick off my '12 Days of Christmas' posts this year....

I've used Bourjois ever since my early teens, so receiving all of these gorgeous products was a bit nostalgic for me. With enough products packed in there to crete a whole make up look, I couldn't wait to get stuck in!

As you can see I went for a very berry inspired look. I love berry tones this time of year and if there's any time to rock a red lip, it's Christmas, right?

Starting off with the foundation, I was very pleasantly surprised. I'm super fussy on foundation and rarely steer off my beloved Revlon Colourstay, so when I like a new foundation you know it's good. The Healthy Mix foundation is full of vitamins, which I feel is an essential in this cold weather, my skin needs all the loving it can get! In consistency it was thick yet really easy to blend and gave a natural but full coverage, and it feels really comfortable on the skin. Used with the Healthy Mix concealer under my eyes, I felt like my face had brightened up and looked loads more awake, perfect for those early mornings.

Next I moved to blush to add my cheeks a bit of colour. I used the shade Rose D'or and it gave a gorgeous, healthy flush. Then it was time for eyeshadow and I couldn't wait.

Out of this purple quad I used the nude shimmer colour on my brow bone, the purple on the outer corners of my eye and in the crease, and the lilac/silver glitter shade in the middle to create a halo effect. I then used the truffle brown shade on my lower lash line and added two coats of the Push-Up mascara and the look was complete in an easy 2 minutes.

As I've got green eyes the purple really compliments my eyes and I feel like the whole look just makes my eyes pop. Love, love, love! The eyeshadows are also really creamy, blend-able and pigmented, I was really surprised at how good the quality is.

Then to finish off the look I chose a dark, cherry red Rouge Velvet lipstick. I was tempted by both the brown shade and the berry purple shade Bourjois included as they're all stunning, but I felt like for Christmas it was only right to wear a red lip!

I also love Bourjois' Rouge Velvet lipsticks as they stay on allll night.

I'm so pleased with how this look turned out and I'll definitely by recreating it for any upcoming Christmas parties or events. Thank you so much to Bourjois and Influenster for letting me try these gorgeous make up treats. I'm sure I'll be using them a lot this festive season and long after.

Which make up product do you love most at Christmas? Let me know in the comments.
