Glitter Lips | Review

8 November 2015

This Saturday I walked into work with normal make up and came out with super eye-catching glitter lips!

Glitter lips are something that I've never really heard of before now. Kiwi Boutique's (Yarm) residential beautician Jo Gaythorpe was the lady who introduced me to them. Glitter lips are a new treatment that are available at Kiwi, it's £3 for a try or £12.99 for a kit for yourself. The kit can give approx. 25 applications and comes with an applicator, a pot of adhesive and, of course, a pot of glitter in your chosen colour. As a treat, Jo let the Kiwi girls have a try of the fabulous Glitter Lips for ourselves!

After some um-ing and ah-ing, I decided to go with the colour 'Ultra Glam'. It's a lovely lilac shade and holds the type of glitter that presents all the colours of the rainbow when caught in the light.

Glitter Lips are applied in an easy 3-step process. After you've picked your colour, all you have to do is:

1. Apply adhesive glue (which just feels like lipgloss!) and wait until almost clear in colour.
2. Dab a slightly dampened applicator into the glitter and dab onto lips.
3. Brush off any excess glitter with small brush.

And it's as easy as that!

One of my favourite things about this treatment (and is something that I can definitely vouch for!) is that it lasts for up to 8 hours! You can eat and drink and there'll still be no need to top up. I got my Glitter Lips at about lunch time and they were still pretty much the same when I was going to bed after 2 meals and a few drinks. I think this makes Glitter Lips the perfect thing for Christmas parties or even Christmas day itself.

To remove Glitter Lips it's suggested to use an oil-based remover such as baby oil, but I found that a Simple make-up wipe did the trick just fine!

If there's one thing that I've learnt as I've gotten more and more into beauty, it's that experimenting with make-up can be really fun and sometimes the more 'out-there' looks are the one's I love the most!

Have you ever tried Glitter Lips? If not, would you? Let me know in the comments!
