A New Found Love for YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Lipsticks

15 January 2017

Just before Christmas I went on a little pre-Christmas shopping trip in York (which you can read all about here) and gave myself an early present from me to me in the shape of a YSL lipstick from the Rouge Volupte Shine collection. This is my first product from YSL and although, for a lipstick, the price is pretty high at £26, it was so worth it! So worth it that I decided to treat myself to another one a few days ago.

The first shade I got was 47 'Beige Blouse' as it seemed like a really nice mauve/pink toned lipstick that was quite a natural 'my lips but better' shade. The first thing I fell in love with about this product was the packaging, I'm not normally a fan of gold but it's so super pretty! I call it my fancy lipstick.

I also love the formula. It's described as an oil-in-stick formula as it's made with 60% oils, meaning it effortlessly glides on and is really hydrating for your lips. Half the time I actually use this instead of lip balm now as they keep my lips so soft, even in this cold weather!

A few days ago I had just been told the news that I had gotten a new job (YAY!) so I decided to treat myself to another YSL lipstick as a little pat on the back, this time in a lovely coral colour in the shade 15 'Coral Intuitive'. I think this one is actually my favourite out of the 2 now, it has a real brightening effect! You know those lip colours that you just feel add a bit more life to your face?

Overall, these YSL lipsticks have made a warm welcome on my lipstick stand and I'm sure they'll be getting some friends to join them in the near future. I'd recommend them to anyone if you want to splash out on a luxury beauty product!

Have you ever tried anything from YSL? The Touche Eclat foundation is next on my list!

  2. I love that coral color! I find that so many lipsticks dry my lips out so I end up using three or so products just to keep up the color and comfort. I'm going to have to see if I can find these.
