Mac Duo: Mehr and Soar

If you follow me on social media then you'll know that I recently somehow managed to bag myself a new job at House of Fraser (oh heyyy there, staff discount!) and it's pretty hard to walk past a Mac counter every week without being tempted! So I decided to treat myself to a new duo of Mehr and Soar

If you're a beauty lover like me then you've probably already heard of these shades as they are hugely popular among beauty junkies, including Kylie Jenner apparently! I was looking just to get Soar as I needed to expand my lip liner collection (when I say expand I mean have more than just Mac's Whirl and a Rimmel London one!) and was thinking it would be great to put with a Mac lippie fave of mine, Brave. Although Soar pairs lovely with Brave, Soar and Mehr were a match made in heaven so I just had to get both!

Mehr is actually my first matte formula lipstick from Mac and it definitely lived up to the expectations, if not more! Mehr is such a lovely dark, dusky pink shade making it perfect for those days where you want to look like you've made a bit more effort but it's still quite everyday. Paired with Soar I wore it to work and it lasted pretty much the whole day with me only needing to touch up after lunch! I was so impressed with the staying power.

Both products are creamy in consistency which I think is why they work so well together and one thing I really loved was how the duo gave me a fuller pout, I guess that's why they're a fave of Kylie's! I can see this duo becoming a go-to for me whether it's a normal day or for a night out, it's such a versatile shade!

Have you ever tried Soar or Mehr? What's your fave Mac lippie? Let me know in the comments!

Too Faced: Mini Haul!

Too Faced has got to be up there in my top 3 favourite brands, I just love everything about them! Their products are still yet to fail me, in fact, their products are still yet not to absolutely amaze me! Every time I splash the cash and treat myself to something Too Faced, that product will most likely become a holy grail for me, and this mini haul is no different.

Whilst shopping in Newcastle with my boyfriend I came across a Too Faced counter. We don't really have much Too Faced in my local town so of course I dashed straight over, dragging Jordan along with me. After about half an hour of swatching everything and lusting over every product they had on the stand, I narrowed my purchases down to 3 products and these were the Hangover primer, the Chocolate Soleil bronzer and a Melted Lipstick in the shade Nude.

Starting off with the Hangover face primer, this is something that has been at the top of my wish list for so long! I've heard so many people praise this primer and although it's £27, it's promise to hydrate your skin underneath your make up is something I couldn't say no to any longer. On the box the hangover primer promises to give you 100% smoother, more radiant and hydrated skin, basically making even 'hungover' looking skin appear to have had a good night's rest, and who doesn't need something like that in the morning?! Having coconut water as a key ingredient I can safely say that this primer lives up to the hype and I've been using it everyday since I got it.

The Chocolate Soleil bronzer was also another wish list favourite that I finally decided to treat myself too. I've been quite happy using Soap & Glory's Solar Powder bronzer for the past couple of years but I think I'm officially a Soleil convert.

This bronzer is AMAZING. I honestly can't stress enough just how much I love this bronzer through words. It is so silky, applies beautifully and naturally yet adds a lovely dimension effect to your face. I especially love this bronzer for my cheek bones, it makes them pop. Plus, it smells like chocolate, yum!

And last but definitely not least, the melted lipstick. Again this is a product I've seen time and time again on blogs and pretty pictures on Instagram and Pinterest. I've always thought they looked nice but I wasn't in a rush to try them out. However, after swatching pretty much every colour I decided I just had to have the melted lipstick in the shade Nude. This is such a lovely peachy colour and makes my lips look lovely and full. I also love how long lasting this lipstick is, I'll definitely be buying some more shades on pay day!

Have you tried anything from Too Faced? If so, what's you're favourite product?

Trying Out Kocostar's Rose Flower Mask Sheets

Do you ever come across something that looks so intriguing that you just can't leave the shop without it? This rose petal face mask was one of those things!

While shopping in Urban Outfitters around Christmas time I spotted a stack of face masks while waiting in line and I just had to pick one up to try for myself, I've never seen any face mask like it!

To start off, this isn't really a face mask, it's more like lots of little ones.

The rose petal sheets are kept in rose scented oils and I must admit I don't normally like floral scents but I actually quite liked this one. Priced at £4.50 I thought it was a little pricey considering you only get 12 petals (6 petals on 2 sheets) and I'd only be getting one use out of each sheet, but I wanted to see if it was worth the hype as I've started to see these masks everywhere lately.

I dotted 6 petals around my face in the areas that I felt needed the most attention and left them on for around 25 minutes as the suggested time is 20-30 minutes.

I'm not going to lie, I actually found this product a bit of a let down. One thing I really didn't like was how messy these sheets are. As they are kept in oils you have to stick your hand in the packet just to get them out, and then when applying them they're very slippery and shift about your face, even falling off once or twice. This also means that you can't seal the packet back up to keep the masks fresh as the oil gets everywhere. I also didn't see much of a difference after using them, my skin did look a little brighter and healthier but overall I wasn't blown away. I feel like I can get results just as good from the good old 99p face masks from Boots.

I'm disappointed these face sheets didn't work for me as they seem to be getting popular, but maybe they just didn't work with my skin!

Have you tried out any of the sheet masks from this brand?
