Ibiza Diaries Day 3: Ibiza Rocks & Amnesia

Day 3 was already upon us and it felt like the holiday was already flying by!

After a nice chill by the pool in our hotel and a few drinks (and a cheeky pizza) we got ready for our third night in Ibiza. I wore a sequinned top from River Island and a pair of black shorts I got from Topshop a couple of years ago. I thought this was quite glam but still comfy. I paired the outfit with some bright orange block heels and a bag to match.

After buying our ticket for Amnesia, our first stop was Ibiza Rocks. I'd heard a lot about Ibiza Rocks, both the hotel and the bar, so I was really excited to see what it was like for myself!

We both ordered some loaded fries with cheese and bacon on top (*drool*) and a lime daiquiri to start the night off. I loved this cocktail as I love lime and daiquiri's, so it was the perfect combination! It almost had a taste of mojito. After that we had a few more cocktails and enjoyed some live music all from the comfort of our table! The acts sang covers of well known songs and I really enjoyed it. Like Ocean Beach, this was also a really reasonably priced venue in Ibiza! I paid around $35 overall for 3 cocktails and the fries which I didn't think was bad at all.

We then made our way to the shuttle bus bay to head off to Amnesia. If you visit Ibiza I'd definitely recommend the shuttle buses, they cost $3 each way and stop off at all the main venues such as Amnesia, Privilege, Ushuaia etc.

On arrival I was amazed at how big the venue was. It had 2 floors and the rooms were huge. We got ourselves a drink and then went to the bottom floor first to watch Pendulum, Rudimental and Chase and Status' set. We then ventured up into the top floor for Hannah Wants and Duke Dumont. All the acts were amazing and the lights and production of all the sets were on another level. It was a mint night and obviously we had to stop and get the classic Amnesia bus pics!

Make sure you're following this blog and all of my social media (@justlucyslife) to find out what we got up to at Mambo's to watch the stunning sunset in Day 4's post tomorrow!

Ibiza Diaries Day 2: Ocean Beach

I woke up excited on our second day as today was the day I was finally going to experience the infamous Ocean Beach Club.

I'd ordered a bikini a few weeks ago which was specially made as I wanted something special for Ocean Beach. The bikini I wore was from an online boutique called Jackie's Bikini Boutique and it was fully custom made. I chose a standard triangle top with high waisted bottom's in an amazing mint green mermaid print. This was the first time I've ever worn a bikini and although before hand I was feeling a little self conscious, when I got there those doubts faded straight away.

The venue was unbelievable to say the least. With a white and orange theme it felt so chic and summery. We booked our own beds for around £30 each when we booked the holiday and they were so worth it! We got waited on all day and the staff were super friendly and helpful. I was also really surprised that this ended up being the most reasonably priced place we visited in Ibiza. Cocktails were around $9 euros each and we got a chicken pitta with a side of chips for lunch which was just $14, and it was so tasty.

We spent the first half of the day upstairs on our beds while it was reasonably quite, and we had a dip in one of the hot tubs with a cocktail for a while. The whole vibe was very chilled.

We then got our chicken pitta's (which were unbelievable and came with some super tasty hummus!) and then went downstairs to explore.

There were dancers dotted around the venue and drinks were flowing everywhere you looked. We sat around the pool for a while and the shooters that go off every now and then absolutely soaked me! It was all part of the fun though and surprisingly my glitter stayed completely in place.

It was around this point that we spotted the man himself Wayne Lineker meeting and greeting people around the venue. If you don't know who Wayne Lineker is then he owns Ocean Beach Club. He also has a string of bars named Lineker's Bar (inventive) and he is in fact the brother of presenter Gary Lineker.

Wayne was honestly lovely and was more than happy to get a photo with us. It really surprised me how friendly he was and there were no forced smiles or anything, it really made the experience that little bit better! We also spotted Alex from last year's Love Island.

It was then time for Lovely Laura to do her first set with her saxophone and she was incredible. She came down in a huge flamingo hanging from a crane (no joke!) and the whole show was just unreal. If you're going to Ibiza then I'd say that Ocean Beach is an absolute must! It was my favourite day of the holiday and I could of happily gone there another few days.

Ibiza Diaries Day 1: Kygo at Ushuaia

Ibiza has always been on my bucket list, and last week I finally got to spend 5 nights in the vibrant city that is San Antonio, aka Ibiza, with my blogger friend Beth from Polished Couture.

The first day we arrived was a Sunday and we were already raring to go. First stop was the hotel to settle into our room. We paid a little bit extra for the Inspire room and it was so worth the extra pennies. All the interior was white and blue with grey wood floor and a huge painting of the sea above our bed.

We dropped off our stuff and went for a few hours by the pool and a bite to eat, then it was time to get ready for Ushuaia, one of the venues I've heard most about before coming to Ibiza and I can definitely see why it's so raved about.

Ushuaia is actually also a hotel but we just went for the outside venue. David Guetta does a regular set there but the night we went Kygo was playing, and to say I was excited is an understatement. I've loved Kygo's music for years and was so excited for my first night in Ibiza to be seeing him do a live set.

I decided to wear a fuchsia pink crop top from New Look (£9.99) along with a pair of ripped light wash denim shorts which were also from New Look (£19.99). For shoes I put on my Nike Janoski's and I was ready to go. I found this was the perfect outfit as it wasn't too dressy but still looked nice, and I was comfortable the whole night.

The set was amazing. The huge stage was decorated with leaves and flowers making it look like a rainforest, it was pretty much like a festival stage but with good weather and hot tubs dotted around the floor. Also, every minute or so an airplane flew right over the venue on it's way down to the airport and everyone cheered as one went past. It was a really cheerful environment and I would happily of gone there another night.

My Ibiza adventure was off to an amazing start and I couldn't wait to see what else the week had in store for me. Make sure you follow my blog and social media (@justlucyslife) for tomorrow's post to see what I got up to on day 2 at Ocean Beach!

Kylie Cosmetics | Vacation Collection

If you're a regular reader of Just Lucy's Life then by now you'll have figured out how much I love Kylie Jenner and her make up line, so when I saw the launch of this amazing new Vacation collection, I just had to get my hands on some pieces.

Naturally, the first thing that caught my eye was the Take Me On Vacation palette. I've only tried one of Kylie's eyeshadow palettes before (the Royal Peach palette) but word on twitter grape vine was that she's massively improved the formula and packaging. Although the price point was a little steep ($52) you could tell that extra money had gone into this palette, so you were definitely paying more for quality.

The layout of the palette reminded me a lot of ABH's with the square pans in 2 rows and the cardboard packaging. However, although the packaging is cardboard it definitely doesn't feel cheap. The whole vibe of the palette is sleek and luxury, Kylie definitely stepped up her game.

The shades are SO pretty and there's a good range between mattes and metallics. This is the first palette I've picked up and wanted to create my full eye look with matte shades so that really says something, and I love incorporating the pink and purple shade into a smokey brown look. The metallics are stunning and even more intense when applied with a wet brush. The colour that really caught my attention was the turquoise named Island Girl. I used it on my lower lash line one night in Ibiza and it looked so amazing, even applied with a dry brush. I also like how big the mirror is at the top and the dual ended brush, I used the brush while on holiday and really got on with it.

The other product I managed to pick up was the highly raved about loose highlighter pot. I got the shade Fiji as it's gold toned so I thought it would be perfect with a bronzed look.

The first time I applied this highlight I was so impressed, it's BLINDING! The fact that it's a loose powder can get a little messy but as long as you tap off the excess before applying you're good to go. If you're looking for an intense highlight then I'd definitely suggest you grab one of these pots if you can as it was only $15 and the quality is amazing!

I think this has got to be one of my favourite purchases from Kylie Cosmetics yet, if not my favourite of the year so far!

Have you tried anything from the Vacation collection yet? Let me know in the comments!

Getting Lip Fillers: My Experience

Soo.... I got something kinda crazy (by my standards that is) done. Yep, I got my lips done!

When Elle Aesthetics, located in Ingleby Barwick, reached out and asked if I wanted to try lip fillers, I couldn't resist the offer. A lot of my favourite youtubers/bloggers have them done and look stunning, so I thought I'd try them out myself as it's been something I've been curious about for a while.

On arrival, Lynn was warm, friendly and welcoming and I didn't feel nervous at all, not even about the needles! While I was signing a medical form, Lynn explained that she has been trained in lip enhancements for 10 years now, and used to be a qualified nurse and paramedic, so I knew I was in safe hands. I laid down in her beauty room and some numbing cream was applied, then 10 minutes later it was time! I didn't find it very painful, just a few stings, but it was over within a few minutes.

Lynn used Juverderm which is popular in lip fillers as it contains an ingredient that numbs your lips as it's getting injected, meaning it's pretty much pain free.

After the procedure Lynn sent me home with lots of aftercare tips including to ice my lips every hour or so, not to take ibuprofen as it makes the bruising worse, and not to apply any lip product on them until later on that night as used lipstick is obviously dirty and I needed to give my lips time to heal from the needles.

My lips went super swollen that same day, and a little the next day, but by day 2 they had pretty much gone down. I only had 1 bruise and they weren't very sore, so I think I had a pretty good healing process! My lips looked lovely and plump but not too big, which is exactly the look I was hoping for.

However, as the days went by I just couldn't shake the feeling that these lips weren't me, they weren't my lips anymore and I didn't really think I suited them. I've always liked to be quite natural and although they looked amazing, they just didn't feel right on me personally. So I got in contact with Lynn and she invited me back to get the fillers dissolved. When getting them dissolved I didn't get any numbing cream as it's a quicker procedure, but I didn't find the pain much more than what I did when originally getting the fillers done, so I think I must have a pretty high pain threshold!

I'm so gutted this didn't work out but although my lips looked amazing and plump, the fillers just didn't sit right with me. I'm the kind of person where I think that if you want to get something done and it will make you happier then that's great, go for it! But after this experience I feel like I messed with something that didn't need touching in the first place. But, you don't know until you try, right?

If you're looking to get your lips done or any other procedure and are located around the Stockton area then I would 100% recommend you go to Lynn at Elle Aesthetics. She was lovely and so professional throughout, you can totally tell how experienced she is.

Jeffree Star's Summer Collection 2017

Jeffree Star is a name very well known within the Youtube/Blogging community. Partly for his scandolous behaviour and outgoing look, but mostly for his amazing make up skills and his brand, Jeffree Star cosmetics.

I've been an avid viewer of Jeffree's for quite a while now, his make up skills are above and beyond and I love how creative he is with make up. I've been wanting to try something from his brand for a while now but have been resisting because of the high price point. However, when I saw this Summer chrome collection I just couldn't resist any longer.

I bought from Beauty Bay and decided to get a liquid lipstick and a lip scrub to test the waters. I had high expectations as Jeffree only uses the highest quality of products himself, so I doubted he would settle for any less with his own make up brand, and I was right.

Starting off with the lip scrub, I did think the price was quite high at £12, but I've heard nothing but good things about this scrub and I needed a new lip scrub, so I decided I might as well try it. It was the flavour that drew me in the most as I got Orange Soda. I love anything orange flavoured and this tastes just like fanta, I love it! It's also a really summery flavour and the lip scrub itself leaves my lips feeling flaky free and super soft, so it's a winner for me! I also like how much product you get, the pot is quite big compared to Lush's, which is my usual scrub of choice, and the formula is less drying so you know you'll get more use out of it.

Moving on to the product I was most excited to try, the liquid lip! Liquid lipsticks have really grown on me, and it took me a while to decide which colour to try. At first I was leaning towards Butt Naked which is a gorgeous nude colour, but I eventually went with the shade Calabasas.

The colour looked quite similar to Mac's Mehr at first glance, but when applied it's much richer in colour. The formula is light yet pigmented, doesn't feel drying and lasts all day, even after a meal! The first time I wore this product was actually to a meal and I only had to top up a little bit after, and it topped up perfectly which is rare to find in a liquid lipstick without it caking up. I'll definitely be trying more of Jeffree's liquid lips in the future.

Have you tried anything from Jeffree Star before?
